Seattle University — Attendees of the annual Seattle University Homecoming March are usually prepared for a wonderful show of school spirit. But nothing could prepare them for the 2017 edition, which set world wide records for most attended march in the history of the universe. Wow! What a moment in history!
While typically the most successful, popular and talked about event every year at Seattle University, no one expected the massive turnout. Though it is impossible to estimate crowd size, some initial estimates — pending Trump Administration approval — put it at somewhere between 200 and 400 million people, topping other large marches such as the Women’s March or Ghandi’s Salt March.
The popularity spread to social media too, with an image of Rudy the Redhawk becoming the most liked image on Instagram with 3x the number of ‘likes’ of pregnant Beyonce.
We sure can’t wait for next year!
